If you want the public to be able to search your sites, you must register you sites in the search engines.
There are a lot of public search engines in the world, you may choose the engines which are popular with your target customers and figure out where you may do the registration and indexing (e.g. Google Search Console/Bing Webmaster Tools). The procedures are similar.
Submit Your Site to a Search Engine
- Ask the search engine about registration for your site there, follow the instruction and create an account for it.
- Add Your Site/Property to the account of the search engine.
- Verify your ownership of the site.
- Create a sitemap for the search engine to help it understand the structure of your site and index it more efficiently. If necessary, you may generate the sitemap manually:
Site Builder -> Settings ->SEO -> Sitemap - You may find your sitemap with URL like:
https://<hostname>/sitemap.xml
For example:
https://www.ordercentral.io/sitemap.xml
- Registered the sitemap.xml by copy the url to the search engine after the sitemap is generates and found.
Salesforce does not recommend you to create your own sitemap as it can be inaccurate and hard to maintain. You may use the automatically generated sitemap or generate incremental sitemap manually.
To check the jobs of generating sitemap:
