When working with OrderCentral you will come across different kind of product object names.
- Products
- Web Products
- Web Product Options
- Web Product Option Items
- Web Product Addons
Each of them have a different purpose which we will describe here below.
Products
Represents the physical product (SKU) that a buyer should get fulfilled upon ordering. It is what defines the price within the shopping experience.
Web Products
Records of this object are what is directly being displayed to the buyer in the shopping experience. It wraps a Product record and allows additional (user friendly) metadata, like product properties or images, to be added.
Web Product Options
For some products multiple variants exist. Like t-shirt sizes or colors. Or multiple properties that define bunch of products. In that case Web Product Options define a choice the buyer can make and what Product(s) (SKU) will be ordered in that case.
Web Product Option Items
When you define a group or package of products these records bind the Product (SKU) to the Web Product Option that the buyer can select.
Web Product Addons
These can be used to provide the buyer additional options that can be selected for a specific product.
