This guide helps internal product managers keep each Web Product record visually accurate from a single Lightning page. Follow it to add the Web Product Images component (if it is missing) and to handle day-to-day tasks like uploading, reordering, editing, or removing images without jumping between screens.
Add the component to the page (admin Only)
Having the component on the page ensures every product manager can work directly from the record without extra navigation. If the gallery is missing, an admin can add it in minutes. Non-admin users should ask their admin to complete these steps.
- Open any Web Product record and choose Setup ⚙ → Edit Page.
- Drag Web Product - Images from the Custom list onto the page.
- Click Save, then Activation if you need to assign the layout to apps, record types, or profiles.
Keep Images Up to Date
Use these quick actions to tidy the gallery and keep messaging consistent whenever product details shift.
- Edit opens the standard image record so you can adjust fields such as Alt Text or Name.
- Move Up and Move Down update the display order; wait for the spinner to finish before taking another action.
- Delete removes the image after you confirm the prompt.
- Selecting a thumbnail swaps the preview, and the preview image can be expanded for a full-screen view.
Add New Images
When new photography or renders arrive, this flow gets them live in a single pass.
- Select New to open the upload modal.
- Pick one or more
.jpg,.jpeg,.png, or.giffiles; the component prepares web-friendly copies automatically. - Review each image by selecting its thumbnail and updating the fields (such as Name or Alt Text) in the form.
- Click Back to choose different files or Cancel to exit without saving if you need to start over.
- Select Save to upload the batch. The modal shows a spinner during processing and the gallery refreshes once complete.
- Any validation or upload errors display inside the modal so you can fix the issue and retry.
Tips & Requirements
Keep these guardrails in mind so image updates land smoothly for everyone.
- Users need permission to create, edit, and delete Web Product Image records and related files.
- Large image files may take several seconds to process; try to keep uploads under 5 MB for faster results.
- Reordering changes are based on the images currently in view. Refresh the record page first if other teammates recently added images.
